Devon's work is characterized by abstract shapes, intricate symbols, and game like arrangement. He explores the use of open-ended interpretation to create works that can be percieved in multiple ways. By creating works that are open, viewers are encouraged to develop their own personal connection and engage on a deeper level with it. This can lead to a more meaningful experience for the viewer and a greater appreciation for the diversity of human experience. His analytical mind and financial background play a key role, allowing him to approach his craft with meticulous attention to detail and a strategic, data-driven mindset. These qualities enable him to see patterns and structures that others may overlook, leading him to create works that offer a distinct perspective on the world around us.

Devon’s educational journey has been unconventional, starting with a self-directed education program and culminating in an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Along the way, he completed a degree in finance and worked in derivatives trading before turning his attention to ceramics. His work has been exhibited at various institutions around the world, including the European Ceramic Work Centre, Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park, and the Mark Rothko Art Center.

“It’s a testament to the power of his imagination that, as with every other encounter I had with him, he seemed to be traversing a vast creative landscape.”
